Giggles 4 Girls

Giggles 4 Girls

The best way to teach children anything is by doing it in front of them ourselves. I wanted to teach my daughter gratitude. The importance of being grateful and being mindful of how fortunate she is. Regardless of how well… or not well we are doing, it is imperative that we focus on what we do have, not on what we don’t. Pay attention to our great health, a house to live in, clothes, toys, the ability to walk, talk, run and play.. Even to breathe. None of these things should be taken for granted.

I started when my daughter was very young. First by saying thank you to her for every little thing she did. I even thanked her for choosing me to be her mum, showing how grateful I was to have her. Soon I noticed that she would always say thank you to me, I also realised that from a very young age she was open to sharing. As she got older I taught her to say thank you for her food and water before eating or drinking as a blessing. At dinner time we all took turns around the table to say three things we were grateful for that day. Once she could write I would get her to journal three things that she was grateful for every single day. The benefits she receives from this extremely simple and deeply enriching habit has impacted her life in a multitude of positive ways, most notably an inner peace and happiness that radiates from her as she chooses to focus on the brighter side of life.

At Giggles for girls we are all about gratitude. Book a party with us at Giggles for girls here at www.giggles4girls.com.au/book-a-party and receive the following:

Everyone Around Me is Only Doing the Best They Can Give the Information They Have

Everyone Around Me is Only Doing the Best They Can Give the Information They Have

Guiding our children to not judge other people is such a valuable trait to possess. Indoctrinate your children with the mindfulness that everybody behaves with whatever knowledge and information they currently have. This in turn engenders empathy.

Instilling these traits into our children from a young age sets the stage for a lifetime of power, self-reliance and positivity.

I AM NOT BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE AND NO ONE IS BETTER THAN ME

I AM NOT BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE AND NO ONE IS BETTER THAN ME

What a fabulous little mantra to minimise the ego. There is never a good reason to compare ourselves to one another and while healthy competition can be beneficial for various reasons there is nothing beneficial in thinking that you are better than anyone else or that anyone is better than you.

Instead teach your children that whey they find qualities that they admire in another person to try to learn from them, decide why they like those qualities and figure out a way to develop those qualities in themselves.

Teach your children to strive to improve upon themselves, and to always be their very best selves.

3 teachings that can make your child’s life easier in 2017, part 1

3 teachings that can make your child’s life easier in 2017, part 1

It’s a brand new year, the perfect time to empower our children with some profound teachings that will make their lives easier now and establish confident, compassionate and authentic human beings in the future.

Here is the first of three infallible principles that will imbue sound values in your children

1. ALL CHALLENGES COME TO ME TO GROW ME

Teach your children that anything that challenges them only makes them stronger, that it only allows them to grow and learn. Teach them to tackle it head-on with the knowledge that everything will work out for the best. Equipping young children with this essential trait produces problem solvers that have the determination and tenacity to take on the world.

Engaging in Activities Together to Help Bring in the Christmas Season

Engaging in Activities Together to Help Bring in the Christmas Season

In the spirit of holidays and the Christmas season we thought it would be nice to focus on cultivating and nurturing a closer bond with your child with some heartwarming and soul enriching ideas. Here are a few of our favorites:

Engaging in activities together to help bring in the Christmas season, such as baking the annual Christmas cake and cookies. Perhaps an arts or crafts project designing their own Christmas decorations that they can proudly hang up on the tree.  What a rewarding feeling for children when they see and/or taste the finished product knowing that they were involved in the creation.

Enjoy a Christmas lights tour.. This is an incredible way to get into the holiday spirit. Many of the houses are decked out in the most magical and enchanting ways that is sure to send a tingle through your spine.

There are usually a number of free or inexpensive festivities organised in every neighbourhood such as Christmas carols, nativity plays, snowball shows etc. Do a bit of research on what is going on in your neighbourhood and take the kids. Fun and uniting for the entire family.

I love a good movie and during this season a Christmas movie is a must. Plan a movie marathon with the kids, break out the popcorn, sit back and relax.

A very special and heartwarming way to involve our kids in the giving spirit of Christmas is to participate in some kind of charity act, such as donating some of their old toys or buying gifts for donation.

All of these are delightful ways to celebrate the Christmas spirit, this is of course transcended by the focal point which is to do it together with your child. What an enriching experience for parent and child.

Empowering workshops in Auckland, NZ – December 2nd 2016

Abundant motherhood parenting workshop

I am over the moon in excitement to have been asked to host a workshop at the botany libraries in Auckland, New Zealand.
The workshop is followed by my book launch ‘Abundant Motherhood – Empowering mums to empower their kids’ it all begins at 5 pm for a 1 hour workshop and then followed by a book launch gathering at 6 pm on Friday 2nd December 2016.
If you are based in Auckland it is an opportunity not to be missed… Atleast I think so 🙂

Here’s what our workshop is looking to cover:

  1. Connecting with ourselves: Why connect with ourselves? What is involoved? Benefits of being connected and what’s at stake when we are not connected.
  2. Emotions:  Woohoo… this has grown to be one of my favourite topics… it allows me the opprtunity to be vulnerable and share openly.  What are the benefits? you ask?  the biggest benefits to me have been the gift of living a life of freedom, peace and in short a feeling of living a life ‘in heaven’ here on earth!!!
  3. Comfort Zone: you may say i’m comfortable i do not need to push my boundaries.. i’m really comfortable, really ??? Let me take you on a journey with this one to discover what living out of your comfort zone is all about and i bet ya, you will be burtsing to get out of the room and take the leap !! LOL!!! One thing I can promise it will be worth it!!
  4. TIME!!!  I get asked this alot… Yolanda, where do you find the time to run x 2 businesses, work a day job, write a book, raise a gorgeus family and still be buzzing with excitemennt for life… I vow to tell all, no holding back.  I promise.  I live with the motto ‘to whom much is given much is expected’  I believe I have been let in on the secret to having ‘MORE’ Time.  and i’m here toi share it all.
  5. Empowering Actvities: That are desgined to keep your kids empowered.  Here I share the power of our minds backed by research conducted on how the human brain works. Why we MUST do these actvities with our kids while they are young. How we can rest assured that our kids have a greater chance at success than they ever would have 🙂

I look forward to seeing you there… if you cannot be there but would like a copy of the book that contains all of the above information and more… here is the link to purchase: https://giggles4girls.com.au/shop/

Our next workshop is happening in Melbourne 8th February @ the Mount Waverley Libraries time: 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Contact us on 0432477021 for more information on our workshops and how you too can host one at your local library.

Are you raising an ambitious child?

empowerFBpic

What can we do when we find ourselves raising an ‘ambitious’ child?
When our kids are young they feel free to dream big & the capacity of their dreams is limitless, unlike adults they are not limited by fear of failure or self-doubt.
However as adults and parents we can sometimes feel concerned about our child’s big dreams and our concern comes from our fear that our kids will go through the same disappointment as we may have.
We tend to reflect our own fears upon them.
Raising an ambitious child may at times concern us.
However, there are alternate ways and we need not push our fears onto them, we can however break down the process of achieving big dreams into small bite-size pieces and show them from a young age that we are in fact unlimited
We are capable of creating within them a mindset that if they truly focus on a goal nothing can stop them. ‘Where focus goes energy flows – Tony Robbins ‘.
It is said that the brain follows patterns and if we create patterns of success and stories of achievement from a young age within our kids we have in fact created enough success story points that they can then take with them into their future & adulthood

When faced with challenges they recognize the identity to success that they have created for themselves and are more capable of overcoming their challenges because that is what is instilled within their belief system

I share nuggets like these & much more in my book titled ‘ Abundant motherhood – Empowering mums to empower their kids – Yolanda Alvares ‘

Our Dream big Party is designed with the ambitious child in mind. check it out here: https://giggles4girls.com.au/empowerme-workshops-4-girls/
